Our History
Recognized as one of the earliest fulfillment and packaging companies in the nation, Complemar, Inc. began its history with the formation of two companies Chili Plastics and DeRidder.
DeRidder was founded in the 1930’s as a die cutting company and over time expanded its capabilities to include silk screening, manufacturing of specialty packaging, sales kits & portfolios, POP displays, folding cartons, board books, promotional bags and boxes. In 1971, DeRidder added labeling, inserting, mail preparation, database management and fulfillment services to its manufacturing capabilities.
Founded in 1952, Chili Plastics provided injection molding, contract packaging and assembly. The company assembled new and recycled/refurbished cameras for Eastman Kodak for many years. In 2001 the company name was changed to CPI; CPI expanded its offerings by adding fulfillment. In 2003, CPI acquired DeRidder and added mail preparation and database management to the company’s core business.
In August of 2004, the company was acquired by a group of investors who saw the immense potential inherent in this experienced team of industry experts. The employees of Complemar collectively have over 600 years of expertise and over 60 years of service in the packaging and fulfillment industry.
Today, Complemar provides services to Fortune 100 customers worldwide with concentration in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, healthcare, educational and wine & spirits industries. We are ISO 9001:2000 certified, FDA registered and a Bonded Warehouse by the New York State Liquor Authority.
